Jane Mason was born Jane Coyle in Tuxedo Park, NY, on June 24, 1909. Jane took the name Kendall when her mother remarried. While studying art at the Briarcliff School in New York, Jane was presented to Washington, D.C. society. On June 11, 1929, Jane married George Grant Mason, an executive with Pan American Airways in Cuba.
